I sat down with microphone designer guru and Chief Everything officer for Vanguard Audio Labs, Derek Bargaehr and his new stereo V24 tube mic to create this incredible stereo tube mic shootout!

Below are the raw WAV files from the session for you to compare and download on your own.

We sat 2.5′ away from the coincident capsules and went into a pair of matched 1073LB preamps with no EQ or processing. Wav files are printed from ProTools using Apollo X converters at 24 bit/48K settings. The guitars are a 6-String 1970’s Martin D18 and a 70’s Guild F512 12-String guitar.
