The World’s First AI Generated #1 Hit Song Tops The Charts This Week For The First Time In Human History and No One Seems To Notice

In mid-November of 2025 an AI song quietly reached #1 on the charts and no one seemed to care much, proving that the general public is happy to consume AI generated music just as they do human-made art. For me, the world changed forever on November 15th but for most it was just another Saturday. I preface this video with the following statement: I am creatively nihilistic. Meaning I staunchly believe all things work out in the end. If life has taught me only one thing, it’s that it truly does. So AI is evaporating everything I do? Well then I’ll do it for my own pleasure and make a million bucks reinventing myself elsewhere. The ride is thrilling and nothing is promised. That’s life!

However, this blind consumption of instant gratification poses a serious threat to musicians, producers, studio owners and creatives everywhere. Without any checks or balance to creating AI content on the backs of published works (of which there seems to currently be none), AI is free to usurp and rehash human creativity and copy written material however the user desires. In the case of this #1 song, a bit of Chris Stapleton meets Little NasX was dumped into a bot and out came “Walk My Walk”.

In a twist of dark palpable irony, this song’s lyrical content is rooted in profound human struggle and perseverance, none of which AI is capable of experiencing or fully understanding. Though still derivative of human thought, albeit pre-singularity, the tune itself is not so bad… for ripping off the human soul itself. However it is still woefully derivative and shamefully desperate to attach itself to the human condition.

HERE’S A VIDEO I MADE ALL ABOUT IT:

What do I think about an AI song pulling 2.88 million monthly streams while humans consume it blindly? Honestly, it’s one of the most important cultural moments of our lifetime, and almost no one realizes it yet. It feels like watching the iceberg scrape the hull in slow motion while everyone else on the ship keeps dancing. Like the floor just shifted under us — permanently… but no one even looked up. Like a musician waking up inside the Matrix with no exit door.

Because here’s the insanity: you can literally hum into an AI tool like https://MakeBestMusic.com and it will spit out a mixed, mastered, radio-ready song in seconds with zero need for human input, outboard gear, studio time or a production team… and it’s FREE?! As a musician/producer/multi-instrumentalist, that’s not “cool tech.” That’s existential whiplash.

What makes it worse is that all of this is built on the backs of existing human work — catalogues, libraries, copyrighted material, blood-and-soul creativity — with zero governance or oversight. Zero ethics. Zero consent. The site’s entire existence is, in itself, a giant ethical red flag.
Please don’t use it to create music.

"Because once AI becomes self-improving, it’s no longer just remixing us. It stops needing us at all."

Ray Kurzweil has been the head of AI at Google for 25 years (yes, the same Kurzwiel of Kurzwiel keyboards!). His whole singularity argument (from THIS book, “the Singularity”) basically says:

  • AI will redesign its own intelligence
  • AI will generate ideas faster than humans can even think
  • AI will operate in conceptual spaces our brains literally aren’t built to perceive

So AI surpasses us not by copying, but by iteratively outgrowing us.

It doesn’t need to invent “new forms of life.” It just needs to do what humans do – better, faster, at a scale that melts the ceiling off human creativity. The line on the chart of Ai’s exponential growth will reach a perfect vertical trajectory, hence the point of singularity – leaving our simple capabilities so far in the review mirror we disappear (in relation to advancements).

Kurzweil’s core claim is simple:

Humans innovate by remixing known patterns. A self-improving AI can remix every pattern, test billions of variations instantly, and discover connections no human mind would ever stumble upon. Those results are new innovations, even if the ingredients are familiar. The same way new music, new theories, and new technologies come from old building blocks.

So the threat isn’t magical originality.
It’s raw processing power.
It’s speed.
It’s scale.
It’s evolution without the biological bottlenecks.

It’s a straight vertical line of exponential growth.

And with all that said, here are the two truths I keep circling back to:

  • You can only do what you can do. Give yourself permission to let the rest go and keep doing whatever brings you joy.
  • You are smart enough to pivot too. Enjoy the ride!
  • It’s all in God’s hands anyway. Life existed for 4.1 billion years before AI, and as far as cosmic time is concerned, you and I will be dead tomorrow. So relax. Enjoy today.

Have an awesome day everyone.
xoxo — JML
